International welcome

With borders opening once again, South Australia has seen its largest intake of International students ever, with a total of 683 students being enrolled in Term 1.

We have welcomed 27 new international students to our College – our largest enrolment post-COVID, with many students returning from our ongoing partnerships with our Japanese schools (Mishima Senior High School, Josai Kawagoe, Mita International High School and Okayama Gakugeikan) along with students from Vietnam, Korea, Germany and Hong Kong.

In Week 3 we visited Adelaide CBD for some cultural experiences in the Museum and also to orientate themselves with Rundle Mall, Central Markets and China Town. International Education Services then held its inaugural International Student welcome event at UniSA where nearly 600 new students enjoyed an afternoon of Australian food tasting and animal encounters along with specific information sessions around safety, wellbeing and support.

Today we also welcomed two short term study tour groups from Japan: 14 students from Mishima Senior High School and 8 from Nihon Gakuen High School. Over the next 10 days they will participate in classes at school, excursions to the city and Victor Harbor and Sports Day on Friday.

Thank you to the many host families who continue to open their homes to these amazing young people!
