Book Week

Last week, REC did some incredible things to celebrate Book Week – a time on our yearly calendar where we get to highlight our love of literature and share this with our students.

This week’s theme was ‘Reading is Magic’, and Primary students kicked things off with a special performance from magician George of Adelaide Magic:

Secondary students had daily quizzes and reading clubs, plus a competition where they could reimagine a book cover for a favourite book or film.

The week culminated in our Primary assembly and Book Week parade on Friday, where students dressed up and represented their favourite characters from a variety of texts. It was wonderful to see so much creativity and enthusiasm on display!

Secondary students also spent time reading books to Primary classes.
