Our VET Construction students are making great progress on their practical project. Led by Cameron Hunter, they are renovating a Housing SA site at Christie Downs and gaining practical on-the-job experience in a real workplace environment.
Skills learned include carpentry, painting and demolition and relaying of the floor. They are also rebuilding the house’s interior to be wheelchair accessible.
Their handiwork was recently inspected by Principal Warren Symonds, who as a tech studies teacher was very impressed with their work.
Previous years’ participants have gone on to apprenticeships after completing their VET Construction course with REC.
