Late last term some of our Year 4 and 5 students had a visit from the Mayor of the City of Onkaparinga, Moira Were AM and Councillor Colt Stafford.
They gave an informative talk about civics and citizenship, including the 3 spheres of government and the role of our local council including the services they are responsible for.
Students had the opportunity to ask questions and found out some interesting statistics about our region. Did you know that the City of Onkaparinga spans over 518 square kilometres, has more than 170000 residents and takes in 32.1km of coastline?
