Hiragana competition

Last Wednesday we hosted the 21st Annual Hiragana Reading Competition. There were 24 teams from 13 Southern Adelaide schools and the competition was fierce as always!

We had two teams competing on the day, as well as wonderful MCs and scorers. They all represented REC beautifully and many visiting teachers commented on their professionalism and organisation. The REC Bento team fought hard in their round but unfortunately just missed out on the finals. The REC GOATS performed well in the first, making their way in to the finals. They were incredibly fast and moved through to the championship round where they had a convincing win to take out first place! They’re now off to the State Competition in October – what an achievement!

Omedetou gozaimashita – congratulations to everyone involved and especially the GOATS Xavier S, Nate S and Lucas T.
