Life Cycles on Show

Students have witnessed some amazing life cycles in action in the library recently. We have tadpoles that are taking a very long time to produce legs, as well as caterpillars that are rapidly turning themselves into a chrysalis before eventually emerging as Monarch butterflies.

The hungry caterpillar turns into a chrysalis. A Monarch is a chrysalis for 8-15 days. The butterfly’s beautiful orange and black wings appear the day before it is born.

This chrysalis fell down from its anchoring so according to Youtube you tie them back up with dental floss!

And not to forget Harry the Bearded Dragon who has gone to sleep for the winter!
