Congrats to Lochie O (Year 10) who recently returned from competing in the US Kids Golf World Championships, held at the US Open course at Pinehurst in North Carolina.
He was the only Australian boy in his age group (15-18yrs) and placed 33rd out of 68 boys in his grouping. He also came second overall for the boys’ longest drive at 317 yards for the skills challenge, missing out by just one yard!
While there, he also watched the Wyndham Championship tournament and met some of his golfing idols, Jason Day and Adam Scott.
Lochie got his first golf club at age 3, but joined Thaxted Golf Club at 10. He started in their junior program, quickly progressed from C to B Grade, winning Junior Club champ at age 12. He is now in A Grade for Thaxted, is a member of their Pennant team and plays off a plus one handicap.
An outstanding achievement for a 15yr old!
