REC recently hosted a Hairdressing Apprenticeship Information evening with members of the South Australian Hair and Beauty Association.
We had a great turn out of students from a range of schools along with many parents; the main part of the presentation involved a salon owner/employer and 2 apprentices who shared first-hand information about the job, the work, the expectations and the ups-and-downs of salon work every day.
A key message from all presenters was that the industry is looking for passionate students to be school-based apprentices who have emotional intelligence, resilience and are ‘people people’ who love communicating with others from all walks of life!
