Students in Years 7-12 are invited to celebrate Wear it Purple Day this Friday 26 August to show their support for our REC gender diverse/LGBTQ+ community.
Students may wear casual clothes with a touch of purple such as a t-shirt, scarf, scrunchie, belt, socks, nail polish or hat. This is not an ‘anything goes’ casual day. Those wearing purple are asked to bring a gold coin donation, with funds raised going towards a new flagpole to fly the rainbow flag.
Those not wearing purple should be in full school uniform however are still welcome to donate a gold coin if they wish.

#StrongSafeFabulous is providing a free, online webinar for students – Supporting LGBTIQA+ young people to be safe and be seen. This webinar will be hosted by young people from Wear It Purple and is specifically designed for LGBTIQA+ young people, young people with LGBTIQA+ parents, their parents, and allies. It will provide an introduction to some of the important issues young LGBTIQA+ people and young people being raised by LGBTIQA+ parents are facing, and how they can be kept safe and be seen.
The session is on Thursday 8 September from 5.30pm-6.30pm. It will also be recorded and available to view afterwards for those who have pre-registered. Please register here for the session.
