Yesterday we welcomed nine students and their two accompanying teachers from Reunion Island to Reynella East College. The group, from our partner school Lycée Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, are participating in an exchange with seven of our students who will go to the French speaking colony in the Term 3 holidays.
During their first day they expressed how they felt privileged to be able to connect to the school’s wi-fi network. They also do not have an everyday school uniform so were excited to wear their specially made overseas tour outfit. They were treated to a welcoming Australian lunch (sausage sizzle) while they bonded with their new friends about life in each other’s countries.
Once they settle in, they will join a range of mainstream and specialist classes, plus excursions to various places around Adelaide including a 2 night camp in Kangaroo Island with our student buddies.
Information about Reunion Island can be found here on their official tourism website.
