Recently our VET teacher/trainer Cameron Hunter was invited to be a judge at the Worldskills Regional Final for Carpentry. The competition was held at ATEC Lonsdale, one of our training partners, who REC work with in our Construction courses.
For the competition, students were required to showcase their carpentry skills to draw up a plan to specifications and complete a JSA to create a wooden saw horse under timed conditions. We did not have any students in this competition this year, however 14 students from 5 local schools did complete.
