Last term the Year 11 Chemistry class went to Flinders University to hear about careers and research in the fields of science and chemistry from the STEM Outreach program. They were also lucky enough to hear about world-changing polymer research done by Justin Chalker Laboratories, from Professor Justin Chalker himself, and his PhD students including Sam Tonkin and Lynn Lisboa, and Dr Christopher Gibson. The students were also privileged to visit their labs and get a hands-on experience, “literally” looking at and experiencing research in the making.
