On 23 and 24 September 2026, Reynella East College held its annual Arts Showcase at the Hopgood Theatre in Noarlunga Centre. Bringing together students from Reception all the way through to Year 12, the two-night event provided a spectacular platform to celebrate student creativity across Dance, Drama, Film, Music, and Visual Arts.
Act One: Music, Film, Drama, and Dance
The showcase opened with vibrant music from the college Concert Band performing “Birdland” and “Kokomo”. Act One featured a diverse collection of performances, including vocal duets, solo euphonium music, and choral numbers such as “Need You Now” performed by the college Choir. Audience members were also treated to an engaging film piece titled “A Love Letter to Edgar Wright”, creative choreography by the Year 9 Dance Academy, dramatic monologues from Senior Drama students, and expressive dance routines by senior year levels.
Act Two: Primary Energy and Senior Finale
Following a brief interval, Act Two opened with primary students from Reception through Year 6 taking to the stage. The primary classes delighted the audience with high-energy dance routines set to “Men in Black,” “Can’t Stop the Feeling,” and “Move Your Body”. The second half continued with lively rhythms from the Percussion Ensemble performing “Noissucerp” and “Hot Hot Hot,” a bright performance of “Lucky Stars” by the Primary Choir, and dynamic dance mashups across Middle School year levels. The evening concluded with a powerful choral performance of “Skyfall” and a senior dance ensemble rendition of “Cell Block Tango”.
Visual Arts and Behind the Scenes
In addition to the stage routines, the event highlighted an incredible Visual Arts exhibition displaying student work. A production of this scale was made possible through the collaboration and hard work of the entire school community, including students and staff involved in stage management, sound and lighting operations, choreography, costume design, photography, publicity, and backstage coordination. Congratulations to all the performers, artists, and crew members whose dedication made the Arts Showcase an unforgettable success!
