There were plenty of smiles, laughs and a few very convincing “100-year-olds” around the McClure Unit last Thursday as students celebrated their first 100 days of school.
The celebration saw students and teachers arrive dressed as if they were 100 years old, with grey wigs, glasses, walking sticks and lots of creative costumes bringing plenty of fun to the day. A big thank you goes to our families for the time and effort they put into helping create these wonderful outfits. It was fantastic to see everyone getting into the spirit of the celebration.
As part of the day, students reflected on what life might be like when they reach 100 years of age. They wrote and drew pictures about what they think they will be doing when they are 100, with plenty of creative and imaginative ideas shared throughout the classroom.
The day was a wonderful way to celebrate not only 100 days at school, but also the learning, friendships and happy memories our students have built together since starting their journey in the McClure Unit.
