Our Reception students in McClure 1 recently enjoyed an inspiring, hands-on cultural experience with our Aboriginal Education Worker (AEW), Ben.
During the session, the children explored natural ochre, discovering its unique properties and learning about its rich cultural significance. After gaining an understanding of how ochre is used, the students were eager to put their new knowledge into practice, creating their own artwork using the traditional natural pigments.
It was a fantastic opportunity for our youngest learners to connect with First Nations culture through art, curiosity, and creative expression.
