During Week 1 of Term 3, staff member Leah and Year 7 student Tyler proudly represented Reynella East College at the 2026 BMX World Championships in Brisbane.
Leah was selected as one of the event’s commissaires, helping to officiate races throughout the 10-day competition. Working alongside Australian and international officials, she gained valuable experience while supporting one of the biggest BMX events in the world.
Tyler competed in the Boys 13 Years category against 83 riders from across the globe. He raced with determination and skill, progressing to the 1/8 qualification round before narrowly missing a place in the next stage. Tyler finished an impressive 34th in the world, an outstanding achievement at an international championship.
Congratulations to both Leah and Tyler on their fantastic efforts. We are proud of the way they represented both themselves and Reynella East College on the world stage.
We wish Tyler, and our other BMXing students the very best as they continue their season with club and state competitions leading into the State Championships later this year.
