On Wednesday 30 August REC hosted the Southern Valley District Athletics Day for a second consecutive year, in which 12 local primary schools competed in various track and field events. REC entered a team of 33 athletes who all impressively represented the College, producing a 3rd place finish overall, our best result yet.
Special mentions go to the following students who managed to finish in the top 3 in their chosen events and earnt themselves a place on the podium:
Lenny C, Carter H, Sharlae C, Salina G, Ky B, Sarah B, Mitchell T, Aiden T, Billy Y, Savannah S, Ellie B, Skyler W and Alex H.
On top of this, an extra special congratulations to Sarah, Sharlae, Ky, Salina, Carter and Lenny for being selected in the Southern Valley team which will compete in the State Championships in Week 9.
As well as acknowledging the efforts and achievements of the competitors, a massive thank you needs to go to our wonderful grounds team, coffee cart crew, secondary student (and teacher) helpers, IT team, and Little Athletics. Well done to all involved in putting on a fantastic day!
