Year 7 Class Welcomes Special Guest Volunteer from Japan

Over the past fortnight, our Year 7 students were fortunate to welcome Nana-san, a guest volunteer visiting us from Japan. During her two-week stay at REC, Nana-san became a valued addition to the classroom, supporting students with their daily learning and sharing firsthand insights into Japanese culture and life. A highlight of her visit was a hands-on lesson where students learnt how to make Onigiri, a traditional Japanese rice ball.

Our senior Japanese classes have also been benefiting from the presence of several international students from Japan, who are assisting students with their language skills and sharing their culture. International students Tamaki and Hiyori recently ran a hands-on activity for the Year 10 and 11 classes, showing them how to make a delicious variation of the traditional Japanese sweet, Daifuku, using rice paper, whipped cream, and fresh strawberries.

We extend our sincere thanks to Nana-san, Tamaki, Hiyori, and all our international students for sharing their time, skills, and culture with our school community.
