In February, the BMX Oceania and National Series 1 events were held at the Sleeman Sports Complex in Brisbane. With 1200+ riders in attendance, it was a massive couple of events, showcasing some amazing talents in preparation for the 2026 BMX World Championships to be held at the same venue in July.
Year 7 Tyler H, Year 6 Dylan T and REC SSO Leah had some long days at the track, in hot and humid conditions. Tyler and Dylan both had fields of over 40 riders; they rode hard and fast and are now looking forward to the rest of the Club, State, National and World events throughout the year.
Leah undertook further National Official training in the lead up to the event, and was then part of the official’s team on the event days. They all had a great time, with new and old friends from across Australia and the world.
