2024 has seen the 5th house restoration project completed as part of the REC Certificate II Construction Pathways/Doorways to Construction VET course.
In partnership with ATEC, CITB and Housing SA, 30 students from 4 different schools worked with the guidance and instruction from ATEC trainer Steve Patch and REC teacher/trainer Cameron Hunter, where they undertook a range of trade skills involved in bringing the house back to liveable standards. Students did demolition work, gyprocking and flushing, tiling, painting, carpentry, garden work and observed qualified tradespeople working on plumbing and electrical work.
Our students should be proud of the great work they accomplished and that was recently celebrated at the hand-over event.
