Japan Study Tour Creates Lasting Connections

During the April school holidays, a group of students took part in an exciting study tour to Japan from 12 to 24 April. The trip gave students the chance to experience Japanese culture, build new friendships and explore some of Japan’s most famous locations.

The group first flew into Tokyo’s Narita International Airport, where they stayed overnight before travelling by bullet train to Mishima. There, students met their host families and began their time at Mishima High School.

The main focus of the program was cultural immersion. Students spent most of their time living with their host families and attending school alongside their Japanese buddies. During their stay, students prepared and presented two speeches in Japanese, helping them build their confidence and language skills.

The group also travelled to the beautiful area of Hakone, where they enjoyed stunning scenery, sightseeing and plenty of walking during an overnight stay.

To finish the tour, students spent a fun-filled day at Tokyo Disneyland with their buddies before returning to Tokyo for two nights in a traditional Japanese hotel.

The trip was an unforgettable experience for everyone involved. Students made new friendships, learned more about Japanese culture and are already excited to welcome their buddies to Adelaide next year.
