Today we announce the last of our main characters for Matilda!. Many other ensemble and smaller character roles have also been cast and primary students will also be invited soon to participate in the whole school production.
Edith C (Year 10) is Amanda. Edith says “Amanda is known as the girl with pigtails who gets thrown over the fence by Trunchbull. She is a bit shy and doesn’t know what to do”. Edith is usually behind the scenes at REC shows but wants to do more on stage roles. She played a judge in The Mole at 2024’s REC’s Got Talent.
Ollie C (Year 8) is Bruce, the boy well known for eating an entire chocolate cake as punishment from Trunchbull. Ollie says, “Bruce kind of has the same personality as me – hungry and funny. I’m most looking forward to eating chocolate cake”.
Lincoln F (Year 9) is Eric. Lincoln describes Eric as “a student who is scared, nervous and gets picked on a lot by Trunchbull”. Previously seen as Augustus Gloop in The Chocolate Factory, Lincoln considered auditioning for Bruce, but didn’t want to get typecast as “the kid who eats chocolate”.
