Our REC debating legends won their quarter-final debate last Wednesday against a strong Pembroke team. They didn’t just win, though; the 3-person adjudicating team gave them a unanimous win, and Sophie, Andre, and Ameeran dominated the night.
Arguing for the negative that ‘the Enhanced Games are a worthwhile endeavour’, their rebuttals were on point and their reasoning was solid with excellent referencing.
They were also supported by several REC staff members who watched the debate, including Andre’s Reception teachers, Ms Hesling and Ms Lawrence.
We wish the team luck as they go against another Pembroke team in tomorrow night’s semi-final.
