This year sees REC involved in the 6th house renewal project as part of the Certificate II Construction Pathways course. Based at Christies Downs this year, students have a range of skills to put to the test as they replace gyprock walls, cornices, timber structures, window surrounds, paint interior areas and remodel and tile the wet areas. Our VET trainer/teacher Cameron Hunter, along with VET trainer Steve Patch from ATEC (our training partner) are working with 2 classes of students each week to complete the work on the house which is supplied by the Housing SA and the program is significantly funded by the Construction Industry Training Board.
