Last Wednesday our Primary classes participated in the 23rd annual National Simultaneous Storytime. Each year a picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator, is read simultaneously in libraries, schools, preschools, childcare centres, family homes, bookshops and many other places around the country to promote the value of reading and literacy.
This year’s book was ‘The Speedy Sloth’ written by Rebecca Young.
The week also included a book mark colouring in competition, with winning entries receiving sloth magnets.
Students could also watch a live web cam feed of a baby sloth in Costa Rica (see below for cuteness):
