Earlier this term, our First Nations students gathered in the REC Nunga Room for a presentation by indigenous storyteller and educator Trent Hill.
The session included a general introduction to Aboriginal culture where students held traditional artefacts and learned about seasonal movements, roles of men, women and children and the diversity of Aboriginal people. They also learned about totems and Dreaming Stories.
It was interesting to see how items in nature (trees, rocks, animals and plants) were used in everyday life to help with eating, hunting and clothing.
