In Week 7, Reynella East High School alumni and District Court judge Michelle Sutcliffe took time out of her busy schedule to speak to our Stage 2 Legal Studies class. Graduating in the early 90s, we reconnected with Judge Sutcliffe on a Legal Studies excursion earlier this year, when coincidentally sitting in on a sentencing she presided over.
This term, the Year 12s are working on their Inquiry, where they investigate a current Australian legal issue and evaluate the possible solutions or outcomes. Judge Sutcliffe provided some valuable insights with her highly experienced and knowledgeable perspective on the broad range of topics being explored, as well her experiences in the legal system in general. The Year 12s, and their teacher Miss McKay, were grateful for Judge Sutcliffe’s time, and the new ideas she provided for their Inquiry topics.
